Yesterday evening, I tried out The Rambling Nonya's recipe for "wind" in the tummy - lemon grass and chicken bones soup.
I had bought three stalks of lemon grass and the bones of a chicken breast. The recipe is quite simple - just boil the bones together with the lemon grass over a slow fire. You can add a pinch of salt for taste.
After about 20 minutes, the aroma of lemon grass wafted through the air. I couldn't wait to taste the soup!
I had made enough for two small bowls and it is recommended that the soup be taken while piping hot. It was delicious with the tangy taste of lemon grass. However, there were bits of chicken residue floating about, but that can be scooped out and thrown away. If you find the soup to be rather oily, you can also scoop out the oil and discard it.
My tummy felt warm and nice after drinking the soup. Perhaps I should take it regularly and see whether it works!
