Pre CNY Lunch





Otak Otak


As a prelude to Chinese New Year, we recently had Nonya food at a popular Nonya restaurant nearby.  We had (clockwise) Hong Bak, Sambal Goreng, Joo Hoo Char, Santan Potato Leaves and Otak Otak accompanied by Sambal and salad leaves. Most of us agreed that the food tasted better at the restaurant's old location in town before it moved to its present location but still it wasn't a bad meal in a traditional Baba Nonya setting.  Reminded me of the old days when our amah used to cook all these dishes!
