Durian cakes topped with almonds - sweet and very filling |
Our CNY celebrations don't seem to have ended! Recently a cousin and his wife flew home from Canada and of course we had to have a family gathering and what better way than over a meal! So the seven of us (cousins, an aunt and a mother-in-law) met at a popular Hakka restaurant to exchange news. Unfortunately all my cousins are camera-shy, so I was allowed to take pictures of the food only! We had a surprise when the cousin from Canada produced a box of durian cakes which he had made himself for dessert! Incidentally, his trips home are planned to coincide with the durian season so that he can savour the "king of fruits" which he misses in Canada! All in all, we had a jolly good time. Another family gathering soon, I hope!
