Over the Moon Over Mooncakes

Mooncakes - Green Tea, White Lotus Seed Paste, Red Bean Paste, Pandan and Pure Lotus Seed Paste
Mooncake giftpacks

The Mid-Autumn Festival is here again! This year it falls on Friday, September 13 and I've been shopping for mooncakes and mooncake biscuits for praying and to give to friends.  I went to my usual vegetarian shop this morning and was delighted to find that they had small giftpacks, just right for giving away as presents.  I always prefer the traditional flavours as I think they taste best but in recent times, many new types of mooncake have been created such as durian, chocolate, charcoal, fruit and veg, to name a few and some are also sugar-free for health conscious people.

Mooncakes to the Chinese are a symbol of reunion and the custom of eating mooncakes during this auspicious time will always remain an important part of Chinese culture.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and may the round moon bring you and your family bliss, happiness and a bright future!

 中秋节快乐,万事如意,心想事成!
