I noticed this year, being the Year of the Horse, a few floats had figures of horses, some of which were beautifully made with flowers. I can well imagine the amount of time consumed just to make one horse, not to speak of the panels at the sides of the floats!
After the last float emerged and it is usually the one from MBA carrying the large golden statue of Lord Buddha, the crowd spilled out from the pavement and followed the procession. We too joined in and walked to the slow chants of "Buddham Saranam Gacchami". We followed the procession up to Burmah Lane where we stopped to get our car.
I managed to take some photos but it wasn't easy. There was always someone with his camera in front of me, trying to get the best shot. To avoid a scuffle, I stepped out once or twice into the path of the moving floats and was immediately shooed back by those manning the floats! Here are some of the pictures I took.

Until next Wesak, may the teachings of the Lord Buddha guide and bless you with peace!
