Tuesday, 31st July was the 2nd birthday of Goddess Kuan Yin for this year, which is known as The Day of Enlightenment. I was at the Phor Tay Temple to offer prayers and as usual, the altar was beautifully set up with offerings of fruit, food and flowers. Incidentally, the two pieces of red paper you see in the first photograph contain the names of devotees, which will be recited by the nuns towards the end of the 11 o'clock prayers, thus showering them with bountiful blessings.
We sing in praise of You.
You redeem us from suffering.
You manifest Your divinity and compassion to all.
