Every year during the 7th month of the Chinese lunar calendar, our Sai centre holds memorial prayers for members' loved ones. This year the prayers were held on Sunday, 10th August. The altar was as usual beautifully decorated with garlands and a lovely arrangement of flowers at Swami's lotus feet. Surrounding the lotus feet were pink lotus candles bearing cards with the names of the departed souls. There were also many offerings from devotees who had come for the prayers which began at 8 p.m. with mantras, hymns and devotional songs. Light refreshments followed the conclusion of the prayers.
