Floral Festival

I visited the annual Penang Floral Festival at the Botanic Gardens recently looking for plants to cheer up my garden. Being the school holidays, there were a number of flower enthusiasts looking around and admiring the flowers, especially the orchids.  I was more interested in crotons and found one stall which was selling a number of varieties.  I ended up with three pots of crotons and three bags of organic soil!  Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the competition booths where some prize orchids were displayed.  I was told some of these are collectors' items and are rarely put on public display.  Here are some of the pictures I took.

More orchids

Plenty of crotons to choose from
Colourful cacti on display
I couldn't resist taking a picture of these long, red chillies
A cute doggie flower pot
Well, I'm off to my garden to tend to my new plants.  Have a nice day!
